Mediterranea (website not done by me) is a restaurant in the Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta that focuses on serving food based upon the traditional Mediterranean diet. The restaurant is entirely gluten-free, though that's not really the point—the point is that healthy food should not be characterized by a lack flavor and does not try to imitate more conventional dishes. Mediterranea focuses on creating dishes with inspiration from the Mediterranean region, with its emphasis on vegetables, fruits, whole grains, olive oil, beans, nuts, and legumes, its reliance on seeds, herbs, and spices, and its attention to fish, seafood, and poultry.

I developed a branding suite for the restaurant ranging from logo design, menu design, post card mailers, and business cards. Custom illustrations of foods and landmarks important

The postcards and business cards use photographs taken by Gerard (one of the owners) of his hometown of Mendicino, Italy. Menus and other printed materials take inspiration from flourishes and accents found in 19th century Italian texts. The wordmark is a custom font with inspiration from old tiled signage found in Italy's markets.
